What is a doula?

A doula is a support person trained to give you and your partner support before, during and after giving birth.

Evidence

A doula works from experience as well as evidence, meaning using research to explain, describe and present different options in order to help you make an informed decision.

Evidence shows that of all the ways birth outcomes could be improved,
continuous labor support seems like one of the most important and basic needs for birthing people. Research has shown that labor support from doulas is both risk-free and highly effective.

Oxytocin

The shy feel-good hormone! During birth, oxytocin is the most important hormone in the room. We care for it and use our tools to protect and reinforce the oxytocin in the person giving birth.

Empowering

A memory for life

Birth is one of the biggest moments of our lives. It is a memory that we carry with us for the rest of our lives. As doulas our task is to contribute and to actively work to make the birth experience a positive and strengthening memory for you.

We want every person that is giving birth to be able to enter this experience with strong confidence. We believe that this is possible with preparation, knowledge, the right support and making space and time for trusting and listening to our bodies.
