"I am “from everywhere and nowhere” as I like to say. I have lived in many different countries, and experienced many different cultures, religions and people. From that I have learned the power of an open mind and understanding, and how that in turn can foster safety and community. These are experiences I bring into my work with all my patients and clients."
In addition to my nursing education, I have advanced training in clinical education, men's violence against women and violence in close relationships with a focus on particular vulnerability, sexology for children, adolescents and adults, as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights in cases of functional variation and illness. I plan to further my education in sexology in the context of substance abuse and social vulnerability, infant psychology, breastfeeding and finally training to become a midwife, which I have always wanted to become.
In connection with your care in hospital, you have a whole team of trained and competent staff with different areas of responsibility who work together to give you a positive and safe person-centered care experience. As a nurse, I am responsible for your support and care, an area that, due to the current helath care situation, I perceive as being given a lower priority than medical care. This does not mean that your medical care is not important, but in order for you to have the most positive memory of your birth as possible, all aspects of your birth care need to be given space and that is where my passion as a doula comes in. As a doula, I offer preparatory knowledge and the support that I, as a care manager, think you deserve.
I am a registered nurse at the maternity ward at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö. In the ward, we work with postpartum care for newly delivered women with pregnancy and childbirth complications. In addition to my work on the floor, I am a Maria Mödravård's representative and a member of the women's clinic's equal care group. Maria Mödravård is a specialist maternity care unit for pregnant women exposed to violence, pregnant women with serious mental illness and pregnant women with substance abuse problems. As a representative of Maria Mödravård, I have meetings with their midwives and counselors where we discuss incoming pregnant women and their postpartum care. As part of the women's clinic's equal care group, I work for everyone's equal right to person-centered equal care and against discrimination.
I am “from everywhere and nowhere” as I like to say. I have lived in many different countries, and experienced many different cultures, religions and people. From that I have learned the power of an open mind and understanding, and how that in turn can foster safety and community. These are experiences I bring into my work with all my patients and clients. My hope is to help you all feel safe, secure and calm about your upcoming delivery and your life as a new parent.
